Frequently asked questions

What is PlanitExo?

PlanitExo is a production planning and OEE platform for series-production plants. In a cloud-based (SaaS) web system, from the browser and without installation, you schedule orders per resource on a Gantt board, shop-floor operators record production and stops on a tablet, and the system calculates OEE in real time. It is built on experience from multinational factories and connects to your ERP (order import) and to Factbird.

Who is PlanitExo for?

For series-production plants: plastics and chemical, food and component manufacturers. What they have in common is repeating products, multi-step production, frequent changeovers and shift patterns. Details: production planning and OEE for series-production plants.

How much does PlanitExo cost?

Pricing guide, excluding VAT: EUR 20–60 per resource (machine or production line) per month, plus a one-time implementation fee of EUR 2,600–8,000. For example, with 10 resources the monthly fee is EUR 200–600. Both the monthly and the implementation fee depend on the number of production lines, the number of modules needed, and the number of training sessions and on-site visits. The exact fee is given in an individual quote. Request a quote.

What does implementation include?

Implementation covers tailoring the system to your plant, training your users and, where needed, on-site visits. The implementation fee therefore depends on the number of lines and modules, and on the number of training sessions and visits. The system can be rolled out gradually, while production continues.

How long does it take to introduce PlanitExo?

Up to 20 resources it can be introduced within 5 working days. Because the system is cloud-based (SaaS), there is no server or software to install, and implementation consists of tailoring the system to your plant and training your users. In a larger plant the duration depends on the number of production lines and modules, and on the number of training sessions and on-site visits, and the exact schedule is given in the quote. How does production planning work?

Orders are entered manually or imported from Excel. Each article has a routing: production and post-processing steps, each with one or more resources and a cycle time. The Gantt board shows the planned work per resource, blocks can be rearranged by dragging, changeovers are separate blocks, and the “Processing” workflow leads an order step by step through its routing. When someone edits a resource the system locks it, so no edit is lost.

How does PlanitExo calculate OEE?

With a time-based, nested, four-level model: Production, Changeover, Machine and Total OEE. Each compares the value-adding time (the standard time of the good pieces) with an ever wider part of the available time. Scrap always shows up as a loss, and all elapsed time must be either production or recorded downtime, so there is no hidden “speed loss”. The data comes from tablet recording, and the levels can be totalled per machine, per machine group and for the whole plant, also as a trend.

What equipment is needed?

The office uses an ordinary browser. On the shop floor you need a tablet, ideally with Android Chrome, where NFC card login also works; PIN login works in any browser. There is no software or hardware to install, the system runs in the browser.

What does it mean that PlanitExo is SaaS?

It is provided as a cloud-based service: your company does not install or operate a server or software, the system is used from the browser, and the provider carries out the updates. That is why it can be started without installation, tried without signing up, and introduced gradually, module by module, while production continues.

Does it connect to my ERP or SAP?

Today the ERP connection works through Excel import: orders exported from your ERP (for example SAP) can be read in, and orders that already exist are updated based on their identifier keys. A direct interface (for example an API) is a matter of individual agreement. Details: ERP and Factbird integration.

Does it work with Factbird?

Yes. Factbird remains the system of measurement and analysis, while PlanitExo adds the order data, the plan and the shop-floor user interface. The order reaches Factbird when production starts, from the latest plan; starting, closing and entering stop reasons happen on the tablet, and the OEE comes from Factbird. Details: Factbird integration.

Can I try PlanitExo?

Yes, without signing up: at try.planitexo.com you enter instantly with a nickname, and a short walkthrough guides you through scheduling an order on realistic, made-up plant data. The trial works best on a desktop computer.

Do I have to replace Excel?

Not all at once. The system can be rolled out gradually, and Excel exports (weekly plan, open projects, shift totals) stay available for your existing reports. Details: PlanitExo, Excel and large MES systems.

What is the difference between PlanitExo and an MES?

PlanitExo concentrates on planning, OEE measurement and shop-floor recording. It does not include quality management, which a large MES typically offers. Inventory management and material handling (pallet and container identification, storage locations, stock statuses, stocktaking, QR-code mobile terminal) will come with the Inventory module, which is planned for the end of 2026 and is not available today. If you mainly need planning and efficiency measurement, it is lighter and quicker to introduce. Details: comparison.

Which languages does it support?

The interface is available in Hungarian and English, selectable per user and, on tablets, per device. The documentation is available in Hungarian, and the Factbird documentation in English as well.

How secure is the data?

Access is role-based: everyone only sees and edits what they are authorised to, and sensitive fields need a separate permission. Shared tablet accounts can be bound to a device, so knowing the password alone is not enough. Data handling is described in the privacy policy.

Can I add my own fields without a developer?

Yes. The administrator can define any number of custom fields on orders, articles, Gantt blocks and projects, without programming. For every field you can set the type (text, long text, number, date, list, multi-list, yes/no, currency, user, cost table), the label in Hungarian and English, whether it is required, its default value, whether it appears in the list, is filterable and is shown on the Gantt block. The value of a “sensitive” field is visible only to those with a separate permission. Number and currency fields can be totalled per shift and per day (Data totals).

How does the Excel import fit my ERP export?

Orders have no fixed structure: the admin decides which fields exist and which Excel column each field corresponds to (by header label or column number). The fields marked as identifier keys decide whether a row creates a new order or updates an existing one. This way the export of your ERP (for example SAP) can be loaded with its own column names and order, and the field names do not have to be rewritten. Today the ERP connection works through Excel import, and a direct interface is a matter of individual agreement. Details.

Do I need every module?

No. The modules can be used separately: Production planning, Project-based planning, Efficiency (OEE), shop-floor data entry on tablet, and the Factbird integration. The Inventory module is planned for the end of 2026. You use as many as you need, and the price follows.
